Lexus has once again earned top honors in the recently published reports from J.D Power Vehicle Dependability Study and Consumer Reports Reliability survey of 2018. Lexus ranked highest in overall vehicle dependability among all brands, 99 reported problems per 100 vehicles, while the industry average was 142. This is the seventh consecutive year Lexus has led the VDS rankings. Lexus CT, Lexus ES, Lexus GS, Lexus RX were segment award winning models from Lexus.
The 2018 U.S. Vehicle Dependability Study is based on responses from 36,896 original owners of 2015 model-year vehicles after three years of ownership. The study was fielded in October-December 2017.
According to Mahmoud Abou-Zahr Business Director Lexus Kuwait “At Lexus we always talk about the spirit of Experience Amazing, inevitable in Lexus products and services. Amazing innovation, technology, hospitality is all part of this spirit. However, the recognition as the most dependable brand 7 years in a row is a testimony that Lexus not only wins for quality but top of the table in terms of exceptional quality.”
Lexus is on a trajectory being starting out in a territory as a more conventional luxury brand towards becoming a luxury lifestyle brand. Globally the brand is aiming to be brave, thoughtful and imaginative.
At the heart of every Lexus design is “Takumi Craftsmanship” where craftsmen use their vast experience to achieve one single goal, perfection. As a result, all Lexus vehicles are created with masterful skill and attention to detail, utilizing state-of-the-art technologies to deliver an engineering masterpiece.
The study, now in its 29th year, measures the number of problems experienced per 100 vehicles (PP100) during the past 12 months by original owners of 2015 model-year vehicles. A lower score reflects higher quality, and the study covers 177 specific problems grouped into eight major vehicle categories. The overall industry average improved to PP100 to 142 PP100 from 156 PP100 in 2017.
